Master Your Nozzle – Adjust Flow Rate in Seconds During a Wildfire

In this step-by-step video, learn exactly how to adjust the gallons per minute (GPM) on your Ace Fire Defense pistol grip nozzle while defending your home from wildfire. You can change flow rates instantly — without shutting off the water.

How Adjustable Gallonage Works

The Ace Fire Defense pistol grip nozzle has a red selectable gallonage ring with clear markings: 30, 60, 95, 125 GPM, etc.

Simply rotate the ring while water is flowing to instantly change the flow rate.

Important Tip for Homeowners:
Always match the nozzle’s GPM setting to what your water source can actually deliver (swimming pool pump, fire hydrant, or wildfire pump).

  • If your pump only supplies 60–80 GPM, set the nozzle to 60 GPM. Setting it higher will cause weak pressure and short reach.
  • If you have strong water pressure, use 95 or 125 GPM for maximum power against heavy embers.
  • Matching the flow rate gives you the best stream quality, longest reach, and makes your water last longer.
