Be the Hero of Your Home: When the Apparatus Is Miles Away
It always starts where you can't see it. Watch our new 28-second wildfire film, then see the real Ace Fire Defense gear that lets a homeowner stand their ground when the apparatus is miles away.
It always starts where you can't see it. A glow on the ridge. The smell of smoke. By the time you notice it, the fire has already chosen its path.
In a fast-moving wildfire, the apparatus is often miles away, tied up on other streets or blocked by closed roads. For those first critical minutes, the person standing between the fire and your home may be you.
Unless you were ready
After the Woolsey Fire in 2018, our founder joined LAFD's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and learned something most homeowners don't know: in an emergency, you can connect to the fire hydrant in front of your house. That is why Ace Fire Defense exists: to put professional-grade equipment in homeowners' hands at a fair price, so you are ready before an ember lands.
The real gear in the film
The equipment you see in our video is our actual product, not a prop:
- Gated WYE Valve: a solid brass body painted red that splits one hydrant outlet into two controlled lines, so you can open and shut each hose independently.
- The Ace Fire Defense Pistol Grip: a professional-quality nozzle with adjustable flow (liters per minute) and fog or stream settings. Use fog to protect yourself and wet down the area, and stream to reach farther.
- Vanadium Chrome Hydrant Wrench: a 24" wrench built to open the hydrant's operating nut and caps when it counts.
- Ace attack hose: rated 300 PSI service pressure, with aluminum couplings.
Your water. Your line. Your stand.
Preparedness isn't about panic. It's about having the right equipment staged, knowing how to use it, and practicing before fire season. Pair the right gear with defensible space and an evacuation plan, and you give your home a real fighting chance.
Always follow evacuation orders from local authorities. Your life comes first. Our equipment is meant to help you protect your property when it is safe to do so.
