From Broadway Tour to Fire Hydrant: Rehearse Before the Smoke
From a national Broadway tour to building wildfire gear: why you rehearse before the smoke, not during it.
In 1990, I played Berger in the national tour of Hair. Now I play a different role.

Every actor learns one thing: know your lines before the curtain goes up. Wildfire is the same. You rehearse before the smoke, not during it.

Find your nearest hydrant. Ask your local fire department and water district if and where you can practice. Then rehearse with the right gear until it's second nature.
It's insanity not to be prepared.
