Ace Fire Defense Malibu estate case study: 4 hydrants, 3 pools, 1 trained crew

In Malibu, the question isn't if a wildfire comes. It's whether you're ready when it does. When a private 17-acre estate asked us to build a defense plan, we didn't sell them a box. We built them a system, and we trained the people who'll use it.

The challenge

Seventeen acres is too much ground for one hose and a garden spigot. In a big fire, crews get stretched thin. In the Woolsey and Palisades fires, many homes waited for help that couldn't get there in time. This estate wanted to defend itself in the first critical minutes.

What we installed

  • 4 fire hydrants: Ace Fire Defense hose, valves, hydrant wrenches and nozzles staged at each hydrant, ready in seconds.
  • 3 swimming pools: pump and hose systems that turn each pool into a firefighting water source, so the property still has water if hydrant pressure drops or the power fails.
  • The property crew: hands-on training on every hydrant and every pump, so the people on site can act before fire crews arrive.

The training

Equipment is only half the job. I trained the estate's grounds crew on hookup, pump startup, nozzle patterns and safe positioning. Every crew member ran the gear hands-on until it was second nature.
