Can you open a fire hydrant? Most people can't. In this video, Ace walks through it with his own gear, start to finish.
The steps
- The 24" chrome ACE hydrant wrench removes the cap from the 2.5" side outlet.
- The red brass Gated WYE threads onto that 2.5" side outlet, never the large center outlet.
- Big Red, our 1¾" x 100' attack hose, screws onto the WYE, and the Ace Pistol Grip nozzle goes on the end.
- The wrench goes on the top operating nut. Open it slowly.
Important: rules on hydrant use vary by city. Talk to your local fire department and water district first, and practice only with their OK.
